Reports remain fragmented
PMS, financial reporting, BI and RMS show different perspectives. The management priority still requires context.

01 — WHY REPORTING IS NOT ENOUGH
The gap is rarely a lack of data. It sits between reporting, commercial relevance and consistent action.
PMS, financial reporting, BI and RMS show different perspectives. The management priority still requires context.
Not every variance deserves management attention. Without weighting, too many KPIs compete.
Without connecting cause, next step and subsequent development, controlling remains backward-looking.
02 — MODERN PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
GEN│RAL organises performance management as a transparent decision process from data signal to outcome review.
Regularly updated, aggregated hotel KPIs create the shared basis.
Fixed rules surface relevant developments and profit leaks.
The management layer connects signal, meaning and priority.
Up to three management priorities focus attention.
Subsequent performance creates a traceable learning loop.
03 — GEN│RAL
The PMS organises operations; financial reporting provides the financial record. GEN│RAL adds an ongoing management layer using entered monthly data. It is not accounting software, a PMS or RMS replacement, or a one-off audit.

Executive Briefing, Dashboard, Health Radar and Alerts bring decision-relevant information together.
Profit Leaks and the Leak Heatmap surface variances as commercial fields of action.
Action Center and Timeline connect insight, next step and development.
Hotel DNA, Copilot and Ask AI structure approved GEN│RAL data while critical calculations remain rule-based.
WHO IT IS FOR
GEN│RAL is built for independent hotels and owner-led hotel groups where commercial clarity must remain close to operations.
FAQ
GEN│RAL focuses on commercial context, prioritised management decisions and subsequent outcome review rather than more reporting.
No. A PMS manages reservations and operations, financial reporting summarises accounting, BI brings data together, and an RMS supports pricing and demand decisions. GEN│RAL contextualises entered monthly KPIs for management. It does not post accounting entries, automatically set room rates or claim live connections to these systems.
Prepare the monthly figures, assign them to the correct hotel and period, then enter or correct the monthly report. Management reviews the variances and their evidence. A priority becomes a clear next step; Action Center and Timeline track it within the relevant plan. The next month’s review checks subsequent performance and possible exceptional effects. A changed figure does not prove that the action alone caused it. Explore the metrics and their denominators.
The P&L compares income and expenditure for a period. GOP (Gross Operating Profit) is an operating result after the operating expenses included in its defined scope. GOP margin divides that figure by total hotel revenue for the same period. GOP is not automatically net profit or available cash flow. Account classification, revenue scope and period must match for a reliable comparison; accounting remains the authoritative source for the financial close.
Synthetic example, not customer data: a hotel records €200,000 total revenue and €40,000 GOP in month A. In month B these are €180,000 and €36,000. Both GOP margins are 20%, yet the operating result has fallen by €4,000. A stable ratio does not necessarily mean a stable result. Demand, available room nights, revenue mix and seasonality must be checked before acting. This calculation illustrates a management question, not guaranteed financial impact or an automatic budget integration.
A clear hotel context and monthly figures for room availability, occupancy, room revenue, ADR or RevPAR, plus the available revenue and cost categories. PMS and accounting data must cover the same period and use compatible definitions. Missing costs are not zero costs. The depth of a reliable analysis depends on completeness and plan scope. GEN│RAL does not replace missing financial information with invented figures.
Aggregated hotel KPIs only. Data relating to individual guests or employees must not be entered.
No. V1 uses a standardised data input and does not assume universal plug-and-play connectivity.
